    FAQs

    Certification Requirements

The certification requirements under our federal contract do not allow for exceptions.

To be deployed you must have NWCG (National Wildland Coordinating Group) certification.

If you took your wildland certifcation courses online, you must have completed a field day in addition to your Arduous Pack Test.

    State Income Taxes

Working in a mulit-state environment comes with its own unique challenges. We must withhold state income tax wherever the work is performed.

If working in AK, WA, NV, TX, WY, or SD we revert to withholding in your state of residency.

AVOID DOUBLE TAXATION and file your income taxes in all states worked to ensure you are not double taxed in your state of residency.

    Employee vs Contractor

Our contract with the federal government requires we deploy employees. We are not able to sub-contract out any of our services.

As an employee, you benefit with lower employment tax payments, medical liability insurance, as well as equipment supply and maintenance.
