Who do we employ?
Wilderness Medics Inc. and Wilderness Medics Montana L.L.C. employ EMT's and Paramedics who have at least one-year practical field experience in their level of certification. All personnel employed by Wilderness Medics Inc. and Wilderness Medics Montana L.L.C. must be:
- 18 years of age
- Drivers license in state of residence
- Certified in state of residence as:
- EMT- BASIC
- EMT- PARAMEDIC
- (In Montana EMT-BASIC with IV, and Medication Modules)
- National Registry Certification
- Red Card Certified
- (NWCG National Wildfire Coordinating Group approved course
- Meeting S-130/S-190 Basic wild land Firefighter/ Fire behavior
- I-100 Intro to ICS, and l-180 Human Factors of Firefighting)
- Ability to meet arduous level physical test requirements
The ability to obtain certifications or licensure in other states as well as maintaining a National Registry certification will assist improve an individuals ability to be assigned to incidents outside their state of residence.
Individuals working for Wilderness Medics Inc., and Wilderness Medics Montana LLC are hired as independent sub-contractors.
How do I get work?
All personnel are added to a personnel pool list according to their region of residence, level of certification, and state of certifications. Personnel will be added to the pool list once a year after they have met all training requirements and annual refresher requirements. This process takes place in the spring each year.
How do I apply?
Down load our Personnel Pool Information Form. Fill it out completely and return it to us with copies of all required certifications. You will be contacted once the information is received. Personnel are usually added to our personnel pool list once a year in early spring. This is after all training requirements are met, and you have attended our annual continuing education and refresher class.
Wilderness Medics Inc/Wilderness Medics Montana LLC personnel work under our medical directors from several states. We also have an expansive set of standing orders and protocols we follow. To meet our standard of service and skill requirements some applicants may require additional training or experience in their level of certification prior to placement on our personnel pool list.
