Annual Refresher and Continuing Education

All Wilderness Medics Inc. personnel are required to attend an 8 hour refresher and continuing education course. Before any personnel are placed on our personnel pool list. They must have completed this course as well as meeting the arduous level pack test standard. This refresher/ continuing education course meets the requirements set by the NWCG for a firefighter type II. This is a minimum standard for all Wilderness Medics Inc. personnel working on wild land fires. Our continuing education course brings our doctors and other instructors in our field in to lecture on topics that our personnel have asked for further information on. We also annually lecture on over the counter medications (OTC) commonly seen at large wild land incident camps. Our personnel also receive CE hours for attending.

Our courses are normally held in the late winter to early spring each year in Phoenix. This will be posted on this site for our personnel several weeks prior to the course date.
